Energy CLearing
We live in a world saturated with energy, seen and unseen. From the people we interact with to the spaces we occupy, everything holds an energetic imprint. Over time, these energetic residues can begin to cloud our field, weigh us down emotionally, or leave us feeling off-balance without knowing why. This is where energy clearing becomes a sacred practice of restoration and realignment.
Energy clearing is the intentional practice of releasing stagnant, heavy, or disruptive energies from your auric field, body, or physical space. It’s like cleansing the energetic dust that settles after interactions, thoughts, emotions, or environmental influences. Just as we care for our physical body with showers and nourishing food, our energetic body also needs tending, gentle sweeps, sacred sound, breath, or light.
Energy clearing is not new. It’s been practiced across cultures and continents for thousands of years. Indigenous tribes used smoke from sacred plants like sage, cedar, or palo santo. In ancient Egypt and India, sound, oils, mantras, and sacred geometry were used to purify temples and bodies. In the East, Qi Gong and Reiki evolved to move and clear energy through the meridian and chakra systems. Whether it's through drumming, chanting, salt, or holy water, the universal intention has always been the same: to restore harmony.
Your aura, your energetic skin, is a living, breathing extension of your nervous system and soul body. When it becomes heavy, cluttered, or porous, you may feel:
Emotionally overwhelmed
Drained after being around others
Unable to focus
Anxious, foggy, or irritable
Like you're carrying energy that isn’t yours
Clearing your space and auric field restores sovereignty. It re-centers your spirit, brings clarity, and allows your body to return to its natural rhythm. You’re no longer moving through the world clouded, but as your whole, radiant self.
You don’t need elaborate rituals to clear energy. What matters most is intention and consistency. Here are some beautiful, simple tools you can use:
Smoke: Sage, palo santo, or herbal bundles
Sound: Bells, singing bowls, tuning forks, clapping
Salt: Salt baths, salt bowls in corners of the home
Water: Showers with intention, ocean dips, rain rituals
Light: Visualization of golden or violet light moving through your field
Reiki or Energy Work: Receiving support from a practitioner
Breath: Conscious exhales to release and reset
Energy clearing isn’t only for moments of intensity, it’s a sacred practice of energetic upkeep. It nurtures emotional balance, sharpens intuitive awareness, and strengthens your spiritual boundaries.
After Emotional Overwhelm or Stress
Whenever you experience heightened emotions, grief, anxiety, frustration, or even intense joy, your energy field can become either overly expanded or tightly contracted. In moments of grief or trauma, the field may retract, fragment, or go into hiding as a form of energetic protection. In contrast, emotional overwhelm or stimulation can cause the field to stretch beyond your natural boundaries, leaving you feeling exposed or energetically “full.” Energy clearing gently gathers your field, reseals it, and helps you integrate what you're feeling rather than unconsciously hold or suppress it.
After Social or Public Interactions
Whether it’s a visit to the grocery store, a family gathering, a client session, or scrolling through social media, your field picks up on subtle frequencies. If you leave an interaction feeling drained, irritable, or mentally foggy, your energy field is likely holding others’ emotions or thought-forms. A quick clearing helps you return to your own frequency.
During Life Transitions or Upgrades
Moving homes, changing careers, shifting relationships, giving birth, or even stepping into a new version of yourself can stir up dormant energies and emotions. These are sacred thresholds where old energy is released, and space is needed for the new. Clearing during these phases helps you integrate growth with grace.
Before and After Spiritual Work or Ritual
If you’re preparing to meditate, channel, offer healing, or set intentions, clearing sets the container. It brings your nervous system into presence and creates a clean space for divine connection. Afterward, it helps you seal your field and return fully to your body.
When You’re Having Trouble Sleeping or Resting
Restlessness, nightmares, or waking up exhausted can point to energetic congestion. Clearing your field before bed creates a peaceful buffer that allows your body to recharge and your soul to dream freely.
When Your Space Feels “Off”
Sometimes you walk into a room and instantly feel tension, even if no one is there. That’s energy. Homes absorb emotions, thoughts, and events like walls absorb sound. If a space feels heavy, cold, chaotic, or unusually still, it’s time to clear. This includes:
After arguments
When someone is sick or recovering
After guests visit
When moving in or out
During seasonal or moon transitions
During Moon Cycles, Seasonal Shifts, or Astrological Transits
The Full Moon is a natural time to clear and release; the New Moon is a reset. Equinoxes and solstices open powerful energetic gates that amplify intention and transformation. Planetary shifts (like eclipses or Mercury retrogrades) can stir the subconscious and collective field, clearing helps you stay grounded in your own truth.
When You’re About to Create, Launch, or Share Your Voice
Before you birth anything, an offering, a creative piece, a new truth, it’s sacred to clear. This gives your creation a clean womb to grow in and removes residual doubt or fear that might cloud your message.
When You Just Don’t Feel Like Yourself
This is the most important one. You don’t always need a reason. Sometimes, all you know is:
“Something feels off.”
That’s enough. Trust that knowing. That’s your field asking for care.Energy clearing isn’t about fear, it’s about reverence. It’s about honoring the vessel that carries your spirit through this life. The more you practice it, the more sensitive and attuned you’ll become. Over time, clearing becomes second nature, a sacred maintenance of your light.
Here’s a short practice:
Find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. Close your eyes and take three steady breaths, feeling your feet rooted to the Earth. Visualize a soft, golden light above your head, like a warm sun. With your next inhale, invite this light to gently pour over your body, moving down from crown to soles, clearing any stagnant or lingering energy as it flows. As it moves, say silently or aloud: “I call my energy home. I release what is not mine. I return to my center.” When the light reaches your feet, imagine it grounding into the Earth, carrying away any residue. Sit in stillness for a few moments, then open your eyes and return with a renewed sense of clarity and calm.
You don’t need to be perfect. You only need to be present.
